You try hard to live your best life. You have discovered a lifestyle that is both exciting, comforting, and manageable, and you want to share it with other people. A lifestyle blog is a great way to introduce yourself to the public and get your ideas seen.

What is a Lifestyle Blogger?

According to Eva-Marie, a lifestyle blogger writes about their life and experiences. They may write about things such as political opinions and activism, but the blogger normally writes to inspire and influence others. Although a blogger may write about several different areas of life, there is often a central theme or subject, such as travel, spirituality, or health.

Starting a lifestyle blog is easier than you might think. There are a few simple steps you can take to set the wheels in motion and drive traffic to your website.

1. Decide On Your Blog’s Focus

Are you passionate about vegetarianism and animal welfare? If you are, you can center your blog around delicious plant-based recipes and cruelty-free clothing and makeup.

Perhaps you love hiking, camping, and similar outdoor adventures. You may want to center your blog on the places to hike or camp and what to take with you on a hiking or camping trip. You can give people advice on where to get the best deals on camping equipment.

If you are a fashionista, you can give people advice on what to wear and tell them the best ways to put outfits together. You can provide information on sales and have interactive posts where people give their opinions on what fashion influencers are wearing these days.

It is best to focus on a certain theme as narrowly as possible because people will be very specific when they perform a Google search.

2. Write an About Me Page

An about page is critical to a lifestyle blog. After all, you are advising people on how to live their lives, so they are going to wonder why they should listen to you. You want to let people know who you are and why you are an expert in the particular lifestyle niche that you are writing about.

It is important to let people know about your enthusiasm for the subject of your blog and give them a sense of your personality. It is even more important to tell people about your skills and experience in your area of expertise.

3. Decide Who Will Host Your Blog

When you start a blog, you will need to find a platform to host it, and several platforms offer free services. Although it may sound good to get something for free, it is worth noting that there are some drawbacks to taking the free option.

For example, WordPress allows you to run a free blog, but you will not be the owner of the domain; it will just be a page on the platform. For example, if you want to start a gourmet blog and call it gourmet.com, it will appear on WordPress as gourmet.wordpress.com. This can make your blog hard to find.

Most platforms will allow you to buy your domain name, and it is always a good idea to own the name, so nobody else gets ahold of it. It will be easier for people to remember a website called gourmet.com than one called gourmet.wordpress.com. Repeat visitors are the lifeblood of your site, so you want to make it easy to find.

A theme is basically a set layout for a blog, and most platforms will have several different themes for you to choose. The better platforms will try to match themes to the subject of your blog, and you should be able to modify the theme by using your own colors and font.

It is best to pick a clean and simple theme because visitors to your site should have a seamless experience. A good platform will let you use unlimited keywords and make keyword suggestions based on your blog’s content.

You should also be able to add plug-ins and buttons linking people to other websites.

When you own your own domain name, most platforms will offer a plan that allows you to use advertising to make money from your blog. Remember to pick a unique domain name that is easy to spell.

4. Make Core Pages

You should organize your blog into several basic pages with a page where people can read your latest blog post.

Have your about page and a contact page prominently displayed. You should have several tabs for visitors to choose from. Categorize the subject of your blog post so that visitors can find what they are looking for easily.

Your posts should be sharable on all social media sites, so you should have social media buttons at the bottom of each post. Getting people to share your post is very important to running a successful blog.

5. Write Consistently

You want to write on your blog very consistently, but you do not need to post something every day. You do not want Google search engines to become overwhelmed with posts from your site. Most experts would recommend that you blog two to four times a week.

You should post what you write on consistent days of the week at regular times. Once you begin to build a fan base, they will know exactly when and where to look for your posts.

You should write about a wide variety of topics within your niche. For example, if you have a fashion blog, you do not want to concentrate it all on one designer or one style of clothes. Instead, you should pick a weekly theme and write about it. For example one week you could write about designers that have the best casual wear and focus on one designer for all of the posts you write that week.

The next week you can write about picking the best clothing for your body type. Write one post about selecting casual wear, another about selecting formal wear, and another about those selecting business clothing.

People should follow your blog the same way they would a TV show, which means they should look forward to when a new post comes out.

More Tips On How To Write Better Articles:

6. Make it Interactive

If there is anything that we have learned from social media, it is that people love to express their opinions. Whether it is the Oscar slap heard around the world, or opinions about what people wore on the red carpet, everyone loves to let others know what they think about controversial issues.

Always allow comments on your blog, but make sure to monitor them because if anybody writes anything particularly hateful, you can choose to delete that comment. Most platforms will allow you to have comment approval.

Not only are comments a great way to get people interacting with your blog, but you can also offer surveys. Surveymonkey.com offers bloggers the ability to add surveys to posts. You can simply put a survey at the end of each blog post.

7. Guest Posts

When you start a blog, you might want to write all the posts yourself. However, It is never a bad idea to have a guest blogger or two because guest bloggers will help to drive traffic to your site. You can even charge people for paid content posts, which is an easy way to monetize your blog.

Each of the guest’s posts should be directly related to the theme of your blog. It is never a good idea to allow people to write about random subjects unrelated to what your website is about.

8. Advertising & Getting Paid To Blog

Once your blog gains momentum, people may start asking to advertise on your site. Remember to be selective about the kind of advertising that you take.

If you have a family-oriented blog, all of the advertising you take should be family-oriented. If you have a blog aimed at animal rights activists, you do not want to take ads for fast-food restaurants or clothing stores that sell fur.

Running a blog can be fun and exciting, and when people read your blog, It can make you money and give you a renewed sense of self-worth. A little bit of planning will make your blog a success.
