How To Grow Your Blog In 2024
1. Focus On Creating Value Packed Content
I often tend to leave this part out, because I feel like everyone should already know how important it is to create content that people find valuable, but I recently found myself overlooking how critical this is, and focusing more on my promotional strategy instead of delivering value through my blog posts.
But content remains king. We live in the “Information Age” after all and the easiest way to keep people coming back to your blog, is to keep giving them what they come for: information.
With an average of 3.5 billion Google searches per day (and this doesn’t even include other search engines) and more people than ever using the Internet, the hunger for good information is already there. People are actively searching for YOUR content.
And no matter what your blogging topic is, there is a need for your expertise, your experience, and your personal twist on how you deliver that information. So whether you blog for fun, for profit or to attract clients to your business, offering free value-packed content for your readers, is the best thing you can do for your blog in 2020.
Here are a few tips to make the most out of your content:
- Post less but write more. Instead of writing 3 x 300 words post per week, limit the number of times you post and focus on quality instead of quantity. Aim for blog posts over 1000 words and try sticking to an editorial calendar, so even if you post less often, you are still consistent and you deliver top-notch content.
- Write content that people are looking for. Out of those 3.5 billion searches per day, how many people are looking for information on a topic that you blog about? Do your research and make sure to create content around the questions that are asked the most and find ways to predict and solve your audience’s problems.
- Optimize for SEO. Once you’ve written a value-packed blog post, you want to make sure that people can actually find it. So make SEO a priority this year and figure out how to get more eyes on your content organically. (Read my post on 7 Key Elements Of A Seo Friendly Blog Post to get started.)
- Make sure your content is shareable. When writing your posts, keep in mind the sharability of your content. You want to create pieces of content that people will gladly share with their peers and you also want to make it really easy for them to do so. Make sure you have social sharing buttons available on page and even include a call to action asking them to spread the news if needed.
- Update old content. Content creation takes a lot of time if done right, but you don’t have to start from scratch. Go through your older blog posts, update the information there, add extra value and recycle them.
2. Give Pinterest A Try (For Real)
If you’ve been following my blog or my emails, you might know by now what a huge fan of Pinterest I am. And the reason I love it and I truly believe that it’s the must-be-on platform for every content creator is because Pinterest specializes on bringing in passive traffic.
Before my Pinterest account + strategy took off, a big chunk of my traffic came from Facebook (I have an entire post on how I made that happen here) and that was because I was very active in Facebook groups and in promoting my blog there.
But when I started spending less time on Facebook, by traffic took a hit as well. And there was no way I could keep up with that, or automate everything I needed to.
And that’s why I love Pinterest! Not only can I automate 80% of activity there, but I can stop using it for weeks actively, and it would keep sending me traffic because of the strategies I put in place months ago.
So if you want your content to be found and you want a place where the news about your blog can circulate, even if you’re unable to spend any more time actively promoting it, give Pinterest another chance!
Here are a few posts on it that might help you get started and on the right track:

And keep in mind that while Pinterest is a great source of long-term passive traffic, the magic doesn’t happen right way. So give it a real shot and have some patience.
3. Invest In Your Blogging Education
As much information that you can get about growing your blog from posts such as this one, if you’re serious about boosting your traffic and growing a tribe of loyal readers, you should consider investing in your blogging education and in tools that can make it happen.
Unlike paying for all your traffic, when if you stop paying, you stop getting traffic, by investing in your education, you learn skills that you can continually apply to actively growing your blog in 2020 and beyond.
So if you’re in the early stages if your blog and you’ve yet to hit 50,000 pageviews, my ebook, The She Approach To Boosting Your Blog Traffic, was created for you!
This ebook is a start-to-finish blueprint that will help you navigate the growth of your blog traffic by focusing not only on the numbers but the real connections you create with your readers.
And did I mention that it comes with a $30 Tailwind bonus (so you can kick off things with automating your Pinterest right away) and a checklist of 100 places where you can promote your blog posts?
If you’re looking for a more advanced course on this topic, I would recommend getting really specific about the skill you’re trying to learn.
Rather than trying to master everything at once, aim for specific courses or learning resources that can help you take one step at a time. And if you need extra guidance, hire a coach! I specialize in growth strategies + helping bloggers boost their traffic (or income) and you can find out more about my coaching services here.

Hi Anna,
Great tips and I have picked up a bunch of Pinterest tips from you. I have had my Pinterest account for over a year and to tell you the truth, I haven’t been focused enough on Pinterest.
This year I am going to focus more on Pinterest instead of trying to spread myself too thin. It’s a lot harder to learn Pinterest when you’re trying to guest post, create videos for YouTube, comment and etc.
Since I have been focusing more on Pinterest in the last month, I can already see my traffic slowly starting to improve every month.
Oh and I have also started focusing more on long-form content and the results have been great.
Thanks for taking the time to share these tips with us.
Have a great day 🙂
Susan
This is amazing, thanks for sharing! x
Hey Anna, always informative practical contents.
The truth is, am overly excited about 2018 and I know this is the year where demand for great, relevant and jam-packed information only goes high.
The creation process can really be demanding, and exhausting, but that’s part of the investment when it comes to blogging and online business.
I believe great contents have to be based on factual information and supported with visuals. One stock image is enough, include charts, graphs, screenshots and videos where possible.
Some content creators also like doing podcasts once a week and this can really be helpful in your growth strategy.
And yeah about Pinterest, its the best platform to get lots of traffic. Taking time to learn and invest in it is worthwhile
You got this!! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thank you soo much for these tips ! I am planning to focus on Pinterest !
So happy to hear! I got great results with it, and know that it can really help bloggers.
I just fell on this post and BOOM! what I was looking for all these days! Thankyou Ana for this awesome piece of advice!
