💎 TEREZA FROM CITYSCAPE BLISS ANSWERS:
Cityscape Bliss is a real lifestyle mix of various topics from beauty discoveries to simple yet delicious recipes, stories about naughty felines, DIY projects with vintage flare, affordable home decor tips, book reviews that everyone should read, fitness reflections of a reluctant runner, blogging hacks that all bloggers need and everything in between!
It started as a beauty review blog 5 years and has quickly grown into a round the clock lifestyle destination.
2. For how long have you been blogging and how many page views do you have now?
5 years and I have about 35,000 page views a month – which for some might not be a huge number but I’m ever so proud I have built this incredibly engaged community of loyal readers.
3. What are your top three traffic sources?
Organic search, Twitter and now I’m starting to see Pinterest growing very quickly.
4. When did you notice a spike in page views?
Most definitely when I increased engagement through other blogs, Twitter conversations, comments and overall being more engaged in the community as well as being more responsive to my readers’ comments.
5. What’s your number one tip for someone looking to improve their blog traffic?
Being more engaged and aware of your readership. I’m a strong believer in blogging for others – not just for myself. If I wanted to blog just for myself I wouldn’t be publishing it online – I’d have a diary in my bedside table.
Realizing that your content can be helpful to others and offering your readers that advice in a way that’s easily digestible is the first step to really growing outside of your own four walls.
💎 VICTORIA FROM LYLIA ROSE ANSWERES:
My blog is a UK lifestyle blog about anything that fascinates me. It doesn’t have one particular niche so there are lots of topics. The main topics are natural beauty, a vegetarian wholefood healthy lifestyle, parenting, my children, small businesses, home and garden. If something interests me or I think I can write an engaging blog post about a topic then it’s on my blog!
2. For how long have you been blogging and how many page views do you have now?
I’ve been blogging for four years. My page views are at 15000 a month for 2017.
3. What are your top three traffic sources?
My top traffic sources this year, in order, are: Twitter, Facebook and the ‘Money Saving Expert’ forum.
4. When did you notice a spike in page views?
I really noticed a spike in visitors this year when I decided to fully concentrate my efforts on my blog. My website views were around 8000 a month last year, so they’ve almost doubled this year.
5. What’s your number one tip for someone looking to improve their blog traffic?
I have a few! Join the Facebook groups and interact as much as possible. Use Social Oomph to schedule tweets so they go out regularly and reach as many people as possible. Join in with linkys. Run giveaways to get new eyes on your blog and give something back to your readers.
💎 LAUREN FROM KNEAD TO DOUGH ANSWERS:
My blog, Knead to Dough, is a bit of hybrid – it’s a baking and business blog that covers both home baking recipes as well as blogging and social media tips to help other bakers to grow their own blogs or businesses.
2. For how long have you been blogging and how many page views do you have now?
I started Knead to Dough back in June 2015 with virtually no previous experience of blogging. Back then I blogged one recipe each week, but I didn’t take it too seriously.
The big spike in page views and visitors came when I started taking Pinterest seriously! Once I started to use portrait graphics with keyword optimised descriptions, as well as regularly pinning 40+ times per day, things started to take off enormously for me!
5. What’s your number one tip for someone looking to improve their blog traffic?
Whatever approach you take to boosting your blog traffic, consistency is the key. So whether you’re looking for fast results by promoting posts in Facebook groups, pinning your content to Pinterest, or if you’re looking more long term at great SEO, it’s essential that whatever you do you stick with it.
💎NATALIE FROM UP YOUR VLOG ANSWERS:
My blog is lifestyle and covers pretty much everything!
2. For how long have you been blogging and how many page views do you have now?
I’ve been blogging now for about 3 years but I would actually say I’ve been fully committed to blogging for just over a year. My page views on blogger now are at over 160,000.
3. What are your top three traffic sources?
My top three traffic sources are mainly from Facebook, Twitter and my friends on Facebook sharing my posts to their friends.
4. When did you notice a spike in page views?
I noticed a spike in visitors recently over Christmas and since then, the amount of visits to the blog have gone up. In February for example, I got over 6,000 views
5. What’s your number one tip for someone looking to improve their blog traffic?
My number one tip for someone who wants to improve their blog traffic would be promotion. I now promote a post every two hours on Twitter and the same on Facebook but I only promote on Facebook between 9.30am and 6pm. Being consistent and motivated to get your blog out there is so important.
💎EDEN FROM MINT NOTION ANSWERS:
My blog is about living with intention. I used to be a shopaholic and have recently made the transition to a more minimalist lifestyle. My transition has taught me how to save money and live more with intention. Now I enjoy helping others learn how to save money by adopting better financial habits so they can live life on purpose.
2. For how long have you been blogging and how many page views do you have now?
I have been blogging for almost three years now. My blog was just a hobby for the first couple of years. I didn’t get serious about growing my blog readership until last year. In February 2016, my blog received around 12,000 monthly page views. Now my blog receives over 200,000 monthly page views.
3. What are your top three traffic sources?
My main top three traffic sources are Pinterest, Direct traffic and Organic Search traffic from Google. Pinterest accounts for around 75% of my traffic.
4. When did you notice a spike in page views?
Once I narrowed down my niche I was able to develop a clear focus for my blog. Then I started learning how to use Pinterest to drive traffic to my website by attracting my target audience. I noticed a spike in visitors last summer when a few of my pins went viral on Pinterest and I hit 100,000 monthly page views.
5. What’s your number one tip for someone looking to improve their blog traffic?
My number one tip for someone looking to improve their blog traffic is to develop a clear focus for their blog. It’s important to define your target audience or reader, what their pain point is, and how you can provide a solution. If you don’t have a solid understanding of who your target audience is, it’s going to be hard to create valuable content that will attract readers and make them want to return to your blog again and again.
It’s also equally important to know where you target audience hangs out. For example, many of my readers hang out on Pinterest, so I’ve spent time learning how to use this platform to drive traffic to my blog. Pinterest can be a powerful search engine for boosting your blog traffic.
Many people recommend using paid tools such as Tailwind or Boardbooster to schedule your pins, however I found the best way to boost traffic is through manual pinning. Plus manual pinning is free!
💎KRISTA FROM BLOG BEAUTIFULLY ANSWERS:
1. What is your blog about?
I run Blog Beautifully, a resource hub for aspiring bloggers. I help #girlboss bloggers unlock their superpowers, align with their intuition, and become magnets for money!
2. For how long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging off and on for about 5 years, but I got “serious” about it and starting doing it full-time one year ago.
3. What are your top three traffic sources?
Pinterest, my Facebook group, and search engines! These are the three main traffic strategies I focus on, and I’ve had a lot of success with them.
4. When did you notice a spike in page views?
Definitely once I started making connections with other bloggers in my niche! The blogging community is so amazing, and making friends in your industry is an awesome way to get your content in front of new audiences.
Sharing is caring, and most of your blogging peers will be more than happy to help you promote your blog posts – in exchange for you doing the same thing for them!
5. What’s your number one tip for someone looking to improve their blog traffic?
Get involved with Pinterest! Pinterest has been a huge driver of traffic to my site since the very beginning, but so many bloggers don’t know how to utilize it properly.
For starters, you’ll want to create at least one “pinnable” image for each blog post you write. Pinnable images are longer than they are wide, and have a text overlay with the title of the blog post or a description of what the post is about. Design something that’s eye-catching, and makes people WANT to click on the image on Pinterest to read the post in full!
How can you drive more traffic to your blog?
If you want to boost your blog traffic analyze blogs that are doing amazing in your field (like the incredible ladies mentioned in this post): see how their Pinterest looks, what type of tweets do they send out and how often, what blog posts seem the most popular and so on.
Get some inspiration and start implementing!
